Joy!

What a joyful season we are in – Christ is born!
The past week I’ve been gathering with family and friends, so I’ve been on the freeway a lot, first in rainstorms, then in crazy wind.
The weather seems to have caused us all to drive a bit slower and kinder.
I think Christmas makes us a bit kinder, maybe not move slower with all that is going on but does make us a bit kinder.
This coming Sunday we celebrate the Epiphany of the Lord.
A star led the magi to a humble place in Bethlehem, to the King of Kings.
Did you know…
Bethlehem literally means “house of bread” or “place of bread.”
Manger literally means “a feeding trough.”
Do you realize…
From the very beginning, Jesus is the Bread of Life.
We receive Jesus in the Eucharist and consume Him every time we come to Mass.
Wow.
The star led the magi to honor the King of Kings, the Christ Child, our Bread of Life.
Joy!
They were overjoyed at seeing the star, and on entering the house they saw the child with Mary his mother. They prostrated themselves and did him homage. Then they opened their treasures and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Matthew 2:10-11
The magi were from far lands.
First humble shepherds came to honor Jesus, now men from far away lands.
God’s Son Jesus is for all.
Today He continues to be for all of us, meeting us where we are.
What a cool thing to remember as we come to honor Him and receive the Bread of Life at Mass.
Joy!
This Sunday as we gather to honor Jesus and receive Him, let us give Him the gift of love.
Continued Christmas blessings!
