Lectors proclaim the Word at all weekend and weekday liturgies.  Commentators briefly greet the assembly at the beginning of Mass, read the intentions at the absence of a deacon, and conclude Mass with parish announcements.  Any confirmed parishioner is eligible, upon completion of an application and approval from the pastor.  Training sessions are conducted throughout the year.  Lectors and Commentators must also be VIRTUS trained.
