Are You Aware? Do You Accept the Invitation?

God is constantly inviting us into His love.
I feel that invitation the moment I see a beautiful sunrise after a long sleepless night.
I hear that invitation through the sound of wind in the leaves of trees that sound just like waves at the ocean.
I see that invitation in the eyes of someone listening to me with care.
God’s majesty surrounds me as I hike a trail and I feel the invitation into His love.
When I held someone in my arms last week as she wept, I felt God’s invitation into His love for her and me.
His invitation into His love is in the music I listen to.
In this moment, I can see God’s invitation to me and to you to come into His love through this coming Sunday’s Mass readings. Look…
Thus says the LORD: All you who are thirsty, come to the water! Isaiah 55:1
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
The crowds heard of this and followed him on foot from their towns. When he disembarked and saw the vast crowd, his heart was moved with pity for them… Matthew 14:13b-14a
This week let’s be aware and accept God’s invitation into His love each time we feel it, see it, or hear it.
I don’t know about you, but I am “thirsty” for His love and peace in my life.
I need the reminders that nothing this life brings can separate me from God’s love.
And I am blessed through trusting in Jesus’ care for me as I receive Holy Communion.
I am reminded of a song I love…listen… (Right click link to open.)
