...Heart, Soul, and Mind

Would you describe yourself as a patient person?
I wish I could, but I cannot.
It seems I’m always moving quickly, always thinking about all I have to do.
My mind is constantly going, full of thoughts, rushing me through the day.
My heart is feeling big feelings all the time, mine or those around me.
My soul knows Jesus and longs to grow in my relationship with Him, but my mind tells me that there is no way I can take the time to pray for an hour in the morning, I have too much to do.
I impatiently move through morning chores and get to work.
I just read this coming Sunday’s Gospel reading. Read this:
"Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?"
He said to him, "You shall love the Lord, your God,
with all your heart,
with all your soul,
and with all your mind.
This is the greatest and the first commandment.
The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Matthew 22:36-39
OK.
I hear You Lord.
We need to slow down, because that is how we can love You
with all our heart,
with all our soul,
and with all our mind.
We also need to slow down and be patient in our love for others and for ourselves.
Jesus tells us these are the greatest commandments to live our life by…He wants the very best for us.
Can patience replace the fast-paced chaos of my mind and heart, bringing gentle love for God, others and me? I’m going to try this week…
Be blessed through patiently loving God, others and you.
