Through Our Living God I Know

People have asked me how I really know all this is real…how do I know Jesus was truly the Son of God, and that there really is a God who loves us?
I am a person who battles fear every day.
Off and on today one of the fears I am battling is will there be enough Catechists for Elementary Faith Formation?
Another is will people come to the Bible series we are working on and encounter God’s love?
I just stopped to read this coming Sunday’s Mass readings and begin praying about what to write to you in this Weekly Email.
How do I know Jesus was truly the Son of God, and that there really is a God who loves us?
At once Jesus spoke to them, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”
Peter said to him in reply, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” Matthew 14:27-29a
I am a disciple, a follower of Jesus, and I am afraid.
Through those Scripture verses, Jesus is walking towards me, saying “Laura, take courage, it’s Me; do not be afraid. You will have enough Catechists for Elementary Faith Formation. People will come and encounter Me in the Living Word at the Bible series.”
It is not a coincidence that this is the Gospel reading for this coming Sunday, when I am feeling fear. It is our living God.
Yes, I know there really is a God who loves us and His Son Jesus is real and present.
Are you worrying about something or do you have fear like I do?
