July 13th Blog...I totally forgot to do this last week!

Have you ever experienced those moments in life where you really need God, but you don’t know what to pray?

I have, the most recent being, as my dad lay unconscious in a hospital bed in I.C.U. with a breathing tube and all sorts of I.V.s.

What do I pray for?

Lord, let my dad live?

Would he want to live with a breathing tube and unconscious?

Lord, take my dad Home?

Do I want him to die?

I was at a loss and had no words to pray.

Brothers and sisters: The Spirit comes to the aid of our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes with inexpressible groanings. Romans 8:26

This verse from this coming Sunday’s Second Mass Reading reminds us of God’s gentle care for us.

In those moments when we don’t have the words to pray, the Holy Spirit is there saying, “I got you.”

The Holy Spirit prays for us.

Now I am praying words of gratitude, thanking the Holy Spirit for praying for me when I couldn’t.

How blessed and cared for we are.
