He Wants Us to Persistently Come to Him

“I have no idea how I am able to juggle everything right now.”
That is what a mom said to me a few days ago as I listened to her about all that is going on in her life. A family member’s health crisis, a new boss at her job making lots of changes for her, three kids 9 and under home for the summer, and her husband unexpectedly getting laid off from his job.
“I have no idea how I am able to juggle everything right now.”
She said that as a matter of fact, not in desperation.
Then she asked if it was OK that she’d be a few minutes late picking up her kids from VBS Summer Camp because she wanted to stop in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel in the church first.
Then I knew how she was able to juggle everything.
Jesus…she was going to stop and visit Him in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel.
And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Luke 11:9-10
In this coming Sunday’s Gospel, a person asks Jesus how to pray.
Jesus teaches them to pray using the words of the Our Father, then He tells them to just ask God your questions and go to Him for your needs.
Seek God in prayer from your heart.
Be persistent in “knocking” on God’s door.
Parents and guardians, you know what it’s like when a child wants something from you, right?!
Asking for what they want over and over. Tapping you or tugging on your clothes. Coming up with all sorts of reasons why you need to give whatever it is to them.
God is our Father.
He loves us deeply.
He wants us to persistently come to Him.
Jesus is waiting for us in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel in the church everyday and all day.
Be blessed through seeking God!
