Be Blessed Through Persistent Prayer

Yesterday I saw a child hitting his mom’s arm, saying, “Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom” over and over again.
The Mom had said once, “Just a minute, I’m talking to Mrs. Smith right now.”
The child didn’t stop, just persisted, hitting their Mom’s arm saying, “Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom.”
The Mom apologized to Mrs. Smith, saying she needed to see what her child wanted.
Today I sat and read this coming Sunday’s Mass Readings.
Once again, God shows me how His teachings are all around us in everyday life.
In the First Reading from Exodus, Moses must persevere in keeping his arms raised, holding the staff of God for a long period of time.
As he did, the Israelites won the battle they were in. If he rested his arms, they began to lose.
In the Second Reading from 2 Timothy, Saint Paul reminds us of the importance of Scripture.
We must read it regularly, trusting that it is inspired by God and that it teaches and guides us through life.
Be persistent in proclaiming the Word.
And in the Gospel…
Jesus told his disciples a parable about the necessity for them to pray always without becoming weary. Luke 18:1
I’m sure parents must get a bit bothered by their children hitting them, saying Mom or Dad over and over until they get their attention, but what an example of how God wants us to pray.
Persevere in trusting God.
Praise God.
Read the Bible –start with the upcoming Sunday or daily Mass Readings.
Be persistent in talking with God.
Let’s make sure that when Jesus comes again, He finds faith in us.
Be blessed through persistent prayer!
