Blessings of Gratitude

Dads and Moms out there, what are the two things you constantly remind your kids to say?
Please and thank you.
Yesterday morning was our first round of Sunday family Faith Formation Sessions.
I am a Catechist for a Group of families.
I had asked all the children in my group to come up so I could give them their Eucharist, Year 2 folder.
On their own, they formed a line, and a few of them looked me in the eyes and said, “Thank you” as they took their folder.
At the end of our Session, a few of the kids and parents thanked me before leaving.
I appreciated the appreciation.
Thinking about it now makes me smile.
…and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. Luke 17:16
In this coming Sunday’s Gospel reading, we will hear the story of Jesus healing ten people with leprosy and only one comes back to thank Him.
Wow.
The thank yous I got yesterday were still bringing smiles to me today, then I sit and read this Gospel… Interesting God-incidence!
Like you Dads and Moms remind your kids, let’s make a point to thank people this week.
And like Jesus reminds us in the Gospel, let’s recognize all the blessings He gives us and thank Him this week.
Blessings of gratitude!
