"Jesus, Please Make Me More Like You."

The Body and Blood of Christ… this is what we will be celebrating this coming Sunday.
In Saint Paul’s letter to the Corinthians, he described us, the people of God as a body.
We are all connected, many different parts that do different things to make the body whole.
Every time we go to Mass we gather as that body, the people of God.
We listen to what God has to say to us through the readings and Gospel.
We respond through songs and prayers.
And we receive the Body and Blood of Christ – God loving us so much that He literally becomes a part of us as we receive the Eucharist.
We then can become more like Him.
I saw many parts of the Body, the people of God, hurting as I watched the news last week.
I felt shock.
I felt helpless.
I felt fear.
I felt deep concern.
On Saturday I went to Tapo Canyon and Alamo to peacefully and prayerfully stand for the parts of the Body, the people of God, that are hurting.
I waved a flag of the United States of America and kept praying.
There are so many issues in our nation and in the world, and I don’t have answers, but I do know that we are part of the Body of Christ, each and every one of us human beings.
And I do know that we especially need to keep ourselves close to Jesus, asking Him in prayer, “What do you want me to do or say?”
I also know we need to go to Mass and as we receive His Body and Blood, we need to pray, “Jesus, please make me more like You.”
"This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me." In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me." 1 Corinthians 11:24-25
Blessings of mercy, peace and joy!
