Patience + Heart of Faith = Joy!

Patient.
The definition is, able to accept or tolerate delays, problems or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious.
I’m overwhelmed right now, which causes me to be impatient.
Then I read this coming Sunday’s readings…
You too must be patient. Make your hearts firm, because the coming of the Lord is at hand. James 5:8
OK Lord, I hear You.
A message of Advent is be patient.
How?
Make my heart firm or make my relationship with Jesus my top priority.
When I spend time at the beginning of each day praying, talking and listening to Jesus, I find I am better able to accept or tolerate delays, problems or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious – the definition of patient.
This morning, I impatiently got busy with “Christmas stuff”.
I didn’t pray or eat breakfast.
Not good Laura.
Not only are we celebrating Christ’s birth at Christmas, but we are reminded during Advent of His second coming.
As we head into this second week of Advent, I am going to start again with my commitment to slow down and spend time in prayer each morning.
I know me and patience comes when I do this.
I’m not just getting prepared for this Christmas.
I’m preparing my heart for Jesus’ second coming.
I want to be full of joy for the coming celebration of Christ’s birth at Christmas and at the thought of His second coming, not full of impatience, stress and anxiety!
Blessings of joy!
