Lent Guidelines
Lenten guidelines for Catholics involve prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, focusing on spiritual preparation for Easter, with specific rules: Abstinence from meat on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and all Fridays in Lent (for those 14+); Fasting (one full meal, two smaller ones) on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday (ages 18-59); and encouraged Almsgiving, prayer (Stations of the Cross, Scripture), and self-denial to foster inner conversion, not just outward show.
