Recognize God Dwelling With You

Over 80 children celebrated their First Holy Communion this past weekend – wow! What a blessing for so many families!
I also went to a Mass celebrating the 60th Wedding Anniversary of some friends Saturday morning – wow to 60 years married!
What a witness of love in life’s ups and downs, when it feels great and when it doesn’t feel so great.
As I witnessed these Sacraments this past weekend I could feel Jesus’ presence.
At all these celebrations people quieted down and focused for a bit on God’s Word as readings were proclaimed.
During the Sign of Peace, you could see love in people’s eyes as they exchanged hugs and handshakes.
And as families received Jesus in the Eucharist, then walked back to their seats, the look on their faces was holy.
Jesus said to his disciples: “Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our dwelling with them.” John 14:23
In this coming Sunday’s Gospel reading Jesus describes what I saw this past weekend in many of your children and families, and in my friends celebrating their 60 years of marriage.
You all are disciples, followers of Jesus and have grown and continue to grow as families in His love.
Helping your children celebrate their First Holy Communion.
Praying together as a family.
Bringing your family to Mass.
These are some of the ways you as disciples live in Jesus’ love and keep God’s Word.
Recognize that He comes to dwell with you in love!
Pope Leo XIV celebrated his inauguration Mass yesterday at Saint Peter’s Square – a historical celebration and blessing for the Church worldwide!
What a great weekend of God Moments to celebrate.
Even more Easter blessings of love to you!
