Blessed to Be Disciples... Pilgrims of Hope

Have you ever had one of those weeks where it feels like on Monday you blinked, then it was Friday?
I truly believe God did not intend for us human beings to be so busy all the time.
Did you know that as disciples (followers of Jesus) we need to be witnesses or examples for those around us – family, friends and to people out in the community?
We need to be gentle, kind, helpful, loving, joyful, merciful and forgiving.
We need to live our faith, not only while at church, but in our lives.
We need to smile.
We need to put down our smartphones.
We need to slow down and be present to people in front of us.
We need to pray, listening to God and talking with God daily.
We need to come to Mass and be strengthened by Jesus through the Eucharist and each other as a community of faith.
This coming Sunday we celebrate Jesus’ Ascension into Heaven.
Right before the disciples saw Jesus ascend into Heaven, He did something.
Jesus blessed them.
Then he led them out as far as Bethany, raised his hands, and blessed them. As he blessed them he parted from them and was taken up to heaven. Luke 24:50-51
Let’s try to remember as we work to juggle all the responsibilities that keep us so busy that Jesus blesses us too.
He knows exactly how busy we are and that we need His help to be caring and faithful disciples…as Pope Francis reminded us, to be pilgrims of hope.
Easter blessings of hope to you!
