I Have Faith

Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerios, and Frosted Cheerios.

Water, steam, and ice.

Those are two different ways I remember being taught about the Holy Trinity.

Three in one.

God the Father, Jesus, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – our one God.

There is a lot of mystery in our faith, things that my human brain will ever completely understand. The Holy Trinity is one of those mysteries.

That’s just it though, faith. I have faith, even if I don’t have understanding.

I believe in God the Father.

I believe in Jesus the Son.

I believe in the Holy Spirit.

We human beings have the basic need for love.

God is a God of love who created us.

God sent us His Son, Jesus to teach us about His love, to forgive our sins, and to open the gates of Heaven.

Out of His love for us, Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit, breathing new life of God’s love into us.

The loving relationship of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit pouring out onto us in the Holy Trinity… I have faith.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you. 2 Corinthians 13:13

This beautiful verse that ends this coming Sunday’s Second Mass reading can be our prayer each morning as we head out to our day.

May the Holy Trinity help us grow in faith in our loving God.

May the 3 in 1 bless you!
