I leave early tomorrow to fly back to Maui for my dad’s funeral services.

My mind has been in a weird fog.

My heart hurts.

I don’t know what happened in the month of February – I blinked and it’s March.

We are in the Liturgical Season of Lent.

Normally I’m into my praying, fasting and almsgiving commitments, but so far I just feel like I’m surviving each day.

I just read this coming Sunday’s Mass readings and prayed, asking Jesus what to write about.

All that my mind can focus on in the readings is a small verse in the Gospel.

…they invited him to stay with them… John 4:40a

People who are not Jewish and who the Jews stayed away from in Jesus’ time met Him, believed in Him and wanted Him to stay with them.

I am going through something that has taken away my normal prayers and left me begging Jesus to stay with me.



This Lent, what is life bringing you?
