Simple Wisdom for Us

Change. It is one of the constants in life, there will always be change. It’s tough for me.
We just went through graduation and culmination season.
We have said farewell and blessings to Father Mike and Father Riz and are welcoming Father Henry and Father Paolo.
A friend is making plans to sell a family home of over 50 years.
Change. It is one of the constants in life, there will always be change. It’s tough for me.
A few weeks back on a daily calendar I have at home said, “God will always meet you where you are and will take you where you need to be.”
I think through these words Jesus is helping me look at change a bit differently.
This morning, I sat and read this coming Sunday’s Mass readings and prayed about writing to you.
Jesus is giving more wisdom to us on moving through change!
Moses said to the people: "If only you would heed the voice of the LORD, your God, and keep his commandments and statutes that are written in this book of the law, when you return to the LORD, your God, with all your heart and all your soul.
"For this command that I enjoin on you today is not too mysterious and remote for you. It is not up in the sky, that you should say, 'Who will go up in the sky to get it for us and tell us of it, that we may carry it out?'
Nor is it across the sea, that you should say, 'Who will cross the sea to get it for us and tell us of it, that we may carry it out?'
No, it is something very near to you, already in your mouths and in your hearts; you have only to carry it out."
Deuteronomy 30:10-14
This is Reading 1 for Mass this weekend.
What simple wisdom for us.
Listen to and trust in the voice of God in our life.
Live the way He has taught us to live, loving Him and each other.
Return to God with all our heart, mind, and soul in all things – at home, work, school, in every relationship, and in our thoughts and conversations about what is happening in our nation and around the world.
We know this.
We simply need to live this in our own lives.
Change can be God meeting us where we are and taking us where we need to be when we live this.
Blessings of Heeding the Voice of God!
