Looking in Wonder

We have begun the great 50-day celebration of Easter, alleluia!
My Lent was turned upside down because of my dad’s death.
My plans for 40 days focusing differently on prayer and giving to those in need didn’t happen.
This grief I’m experiencing is unlike anything I’ve gone through before.
I find myself surviving, just getting through more than anything.
“Jesus, I surrender myself to You. Take care of everything.”
That has been my prayer throughout the day…and night.
I prayed that on Monday of Holy Week and ended up unexpectedly going to the Chrism Mass with Deacon Melecio, his daughter and her husband – what a blessing.
I prayed that during a meeting on Holy Thursday and ended up volunteering to ring the bells during the Gloria at the Mass of the Lord’s Supper that night – something I grew up seeing and always wanting to do – pure joy.
I prayed that on Holy Saturday and as I was asked to help with being a Eucharistic Minister of the Cup at the Easter Vigil Mass and ended up looking two people I have grown to love in the eyes while saying to them, “The Blood of Christ” – what an honor.
Awe came upon everyone, and many wonders and signs were done…
Acts 2:43
Life does bring pain and suffering, but God’s love came, Jesus.
He died for us.
He rose from the dead and opened the gates of Heaven for us.
I am in awe of the ways Jesus brings hope and moments of life to me, to each of us.
“Jesus, I surrender myself to You. Take care of everything.”
This first week of the Easter Season, let’s end each day by looking in wonder for the signs and experiences of Jesus’ presence in our day.
Easter blessings!
