“Laura, how did you do all the work you did last year?”
I have been asked that question a lot the past few weeks. I’m even asking myself that question.
I was working alone for most of last year taking care of both Faith Formation and Youth Ministry.
My Sundays of Elementary Faith Formation and then Confirmation Sessions began at 7 a.m. and ended at 9 p.m.
It was a lot, but…
My God will fully supply whatever you need, in accord with his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father, glory forever and ever. Amen. Philippians 4:19-20
God truly did supply whatever I needed.
We are blessed by the people who volunteer to be our Catechists for Elementary Faith Formation. They prepare and come faithfully and with care lead our families through their Sessions, supporting them in preparing their children for their First Reconciliation and Holy Communion.
We are blessed by the people who volunteer on the Youth Ministry Team. And the parents that kindly volunteered to come help me with last season’s Year 1 Confirmation pizza dinners – including making sure I ate too – what blessings.
I buy Lottery tickets and ask God to let me win, and then have fun dreaming about all I will when I do win.
But I’m now realizing I did win the Lottery.
Last season God supplied me with all I needed to do all the work I had to care for alone.
This season God has blessed me with Kyle and Sarahi, our Administrative Assistants, and with Jessica, our new Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministry.
It isn’t always easy and sometimes we may not even see it, but God does give us what we need.
To our God and Father, glory forever and ever indeed!
Be blessed by God’s care of you!
