Blessed or privileged, there is a big difference.
This is what a Bishop said at a talk this past weekend.
The thought keeps floating around my head.
I don’t think I realize how privileged I am.
I live in America.
I have an apartment.
I have a car.
I have a job.
I can go buy food when I need to.
I have a phone and can communicate with people.
So, what does this mean as far as being blessed?
He saved us and called us to a holy life, not according to our works but according to his own design… 2 Timothy 1:9
That verse from this coming Sunday’s Second Reading tells me that I am blessed through God’s design.
I am created in God’s image and His Son Jesus saved me.
This is a blessing from God for every single human being on earth, not a privilege to some.
Lent reminds me that I am called to be holy.
As we head towards the second week of Lent, what do you hear God telling you?
