I woke up thinking I must have been sleeping for a long time, it must be nearly dawn.
Nope. It’s 1:13 a.m.
Wow! What a vivid dream that went on and on.
For sure it must be almost time to get up.
Nope. It’s 1:44 a.m. now. I am awake. I don’t fall back asleep until almost 4 a.m.
Do I get up and do something?
Do I turn on the TV?
Do I listen to music?
Read?
How do I quiet all the stressful thoughts on my mind?
Brothers and sisters: Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Philippians 4:6
I prayed, asking Jesus to help me write this Weekly Email to you, then read the Mass readings for this coming Sunday.
My question was answered in the Second Reading.
How do I quiet all the stressful thoughts on my mind?
Pray.
Thank God for my blessings.
Ask God to help me with each thing I am stressing about.
Let God know what I need.
Look what it says will happen if we do this:
Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
Wow. I want the peace of God to guard my heart and mind.
Don’t you?
Let’s strive to ease our stress and anxiety by praying, naming blessings to thank God for and asking Him for what we need.
Jesus, may your peace guard our hearts and minds.
Blessings of the peace of God to you!
