A King Who Loves You

What It Really Means When You Say You're "Too Busy" - Invictus Fitness

Work. School. Making breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Homework. Laundry. Kids sports. Dance or gymnastics.

At yesterday’s Elementary Sessions I listened to a couple of parents describe to me their busy lives. Parents who work seven days a week. Parents who care for their own parents. All the places to drive daily in caring for their kids. Wow.

At yesterday’s Confirmation, Year 1 Session I was talking with a youth who was telling me about all that they must do in a day. Again, wow.

This coming Sunday we celebrate Christ the King. Our King loves each of us so much.

Our King is with us in every moment of our very busy days. He knows the hearts of parents who are working, keeping their home running, and caring for their family. He knows the hearts of parents who are caring for their own parents as well. He knows the hearts of each of our children.
Our King is one of love, mercy, kindness, peace, grace.

Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." Luke 23:42

As we honor Christ The King, the Gospel reading brings us to the thief on a cross next to Jesus asking that question.
I humbly ask Christ The King to remember each of you this week.
During your busy days, may you and your kids have moments of feeling Christ’s profound love.
