Little Church

St. Peter Claver's Little Church is a parent cooperative designed for 3, 4, and 5 year old children. It is a religious ready program geared toward preparing the children for their eventual awakening of faith. The Children learn the basic elements necessary for their future understanding of the Mass and Sacraments. Little Church helps the child develop a sends of wonder at the world around them and understand God as their loving and caring Father and that Jesus is their friend and is with them always. Little Chruch meets every Sunday during the school year during the 10:00am Mass.

Children's Liturgy

Jesus made a special point of welcoming children. He said, "Let the little children come to me; do not stop them, for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs." (Mark 10:14) In children's liturgy the 5 to 12 year old children and their leader leave the regular assembly after the opening prayer and go into the Children's Liturgy Room. They hear the same readings of the day that the adults hear. The readings have been adapted so that the 5 to 12 year old children may easily understand them. After hearing the Word, the children and their leader reflect on and discuss how the readings apply to their own lives today. Children's Liturgy is a spirit-filled experience! If you have a child who is shy about coming backwith the group; if you are not sure if your child is mature enough to benefit from the program; or if you think you might like to support the program as a leader or assistant, feel free to join us any time! Training is provided.
